Tonight's sky in the menu bar
Transit is a native Mac menu-bar app that combines observing conditions with astronomical events for the user's location. It tracks planetary rise, transit, and set times; oppositions and conjunctions; Galilean-moon shadows and eclipses; Great Red Spot transits; lunar occultations; and Sun and Moon phase milestones. Visible passes for the ISS, Tiangong, and Hubble are included, and other satellites can be added by NORAD number from the CelesTrak catalog.
Alerts designed to arrive early
Each event type has its own notification setting: off, badge only, at the event, 15 minutes before, one hour before, or one day before. Alerts can respect an editable night-hours window, a minimum altitude, and observing conditions, so scheduled notices stay quiet when the sky is overcast. Two state-based alerts can notify when nighttime conditions cross a chosen threshold or when a daytime solar-observing window becomes favorable.
- View cloud layers, humidity, dew-point spread, wind, and a separate seeing forecast.

Mostly on-device astronomy
