TacticBar puts a chess puzzle behind a single click in the macOS menu bar. It is built for people who want to practise tactics but rarely remember to open a dedicated training site.
Each puzzle opens over whatever you are doing, adapts to your results, and disappears when you are finished. A Lichess account is optional: connecting it supplies unseen puzzles, uses your existing puzzle rating as a starting point, and sends rated outcomes back to Lichess. Without an account, TacticBar keeps its own local adaptive difficulty.
TacticBar is a native Mac app for macOS 14.7 or later. It costs $4.99 as a one-time purchase with no subscription.
