A scratchpad for information you do not need to file
Antinote is designed for temporary notes: calculations, copied fragments, short lists, and other material that matters now but does not deserve a permanent notebook. Swipe navigation moves between notes, a command jumps to the front, and auto-delete can clear old material. Pasted text is stripped to plain text and indentation, keeping the workspace intentionally low-friction.
Calculate and transform in place
The note itself can act as a lightweight utility surface:
- Write descriptive math with surrounding context.
- Convert distances, weights, currencies, and cryptocurrency values.
- Define reactive variables to create small custom calculators.
- Build checklists with a keyword.
- Start a stopwatch, countdown, or Pomodoro timer.
- Drag in an image to extract plain text.
Keep the scratchpad within reach
A global Option-A shortcut opens Antinote, which can also live in the Dock or menu bar and be pinned above other windows. AutoPaste can capture newly copied items without switching apps. When a temporary note becomes durable, one-click export sends it to Apple Notes, Obsidian, or Bear, or saves it as a text file. Search, sum, average, and counts for items, lines, words, and reading ease round out the workspace. The official site lists a one-time purchase with lifetime updates and a free trial.
